Un jurnalist și activist irakian, Steven Nabil, se afla cu soția sa în aeroportul Ataturk, atunci când cei trei bărbați s-au aruncat în aer, omorând 41 de persoane și rănind alte 239.
Nabil și soția lui se întorceau din luna de miere și, la primele împușcături, s-au ascuns într-un dulap al unei frizerii din aeroport. Cei doi soți au stat ca pe ace și s-au temut că unul din atentatori îi va găsi și îi va omorî. ”Au fost cele mai lungi 45 de minute din viața mea”, a spus el, pentru BBC News.
